Omega 3 fatty acids are necessary for human health, they are found in fish, such as salmon, tuna, sardine and other sea foods including algae and in fewer amounts in nut oils. Our Omega -3 has a high concentration of the two most potent omega-3 fatty acids:

  • 500mg eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) &
  • 335mg docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)

EPA and DHA have been shown to provide a wide variety of clinical benefits that varies from brain and eye development in infants, to the maintenance of cardiovascular health in adults and seniors.

While, most Omega-3 supplements in the market are produced from fish oil, our Ω3 come from Algae. Algae is the base of the food chain for fish and is a rich source of EPA & DHA, while it doesn't concentrate high levels of contaminants, as most fish do nowadays. It is a fact that over the last 20 years the ocean’s mercury levels have risen about 30% and fish concentrate in their tissues, not only EPA and DHA, but also environmental contaminants like pesticides, mercury and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). In Gold Touch nutrition we took advantage of the fact that the beneficial components of fish oil (EPA) and (DHA), actually originate in algae and we created a supplement that contains:

- 500mg eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) & 

- 335mg docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)

EPA  is responsible for constructing prostaglandins, which are messaging molecules that play a major role in the proper function of our inflammatory system. DHA is one of the most prevalent fatty acids in the brain and is particularly important to brain function. DHA not only turns on the growth of new brain cells, but offers protection for existing brain cells while it enhances the ability one brain cell to connect to the next(a process called neuroplasticity).

Numerous researches prove that consuming enough amounts of omega-3's reduce the inflammatory process that leads to many chronic conditions such as cancer, asthma, depression, ADHD, and autoimmune diseases(e.g. rheumatoid arthritis). Moreover omega-3 affects a number of risk factors for cardiovascular disease: It appears to prevent irregular heartbeat, reduce fatty plaques inside artery walls, decrease blood clotting, decrease triglycerides (blood fat) and increase HDL (good cholesterol).

While not an answer to every ailment, omega-3s have a positive impact from the womb to old age, with studies showing significant physiological and psychological benefits.
